Who Let the Dogs Out?

Summer is more than halfway gone, and I am just having a hard time facing the fact that I AM GOING TO COLLEGE. Who will I be hanging out with? Who will my roommate be? What classes am I going to take? Am I going to be able to adapt to the hostile New York weather? So many questions, and so many doubts. I have been trying to pack everything into my suitcases, and it is just really difficult to decide what to bring and what to leave behind. I guess it is time to let go of some of my physical and emotional baggage. On a lighter note, I have been watching Desperate Housewives literally 24/7! That show is actually so good...it was completely different than my initial perception of it. It is like CSI...but with housewives! Anyway, I actually BROKE my camera...which sucks because that means I probably won't be able to do another outfit post until I get a new one. I have been considering buying this one with all the money I made from selling half my closet. Let me know what you guys think and please let me know if you guys have other suggestions! I thought it was about time to upgrade anyway and invest in a DSLR or a SLR to improve the picture quality on this blog. My look has also been featured on the Mens Fashion Now blog, go check it out!

This look was inspired by Givenchy's famous rottweiler shirt, and I just love the easiness the beanie adds to the outfit. I decided to dress up the look a little bit with some oxford shoes to complete the outfit. I hope everyone's summer is going fantastically, and I cannot wait to share with you guys my adventures in New York! :)

Love always,
Eric

Summertime Sadness ▲

Summer is halfway gone, and I still haven't gotten my license or a job. The heat and my laziness has taken over me and all I want to do is watch movies on my computer all day. It is very unlike me to feel this unmotivated and indifferent about everything. I guess the thought of going to college and starting life on my own has hit me a little bit, that's why all I want to do is lounge around and do nothing. I need to take advantage of the time I have left in California and actually complete all the things I was so pumped up to do at the beginning of the summer. I'm just glad I'm moving to New York, where I can get away from this crazy hot weather.

Proud to Love

Weddings bring families and friends from all corners of the world together to celebrate one single purpose: Love. We gather on one day to manifest the the joy and journey of the newlywed. To witness and support the love that two individuals have as they welcome each other into their families. We drove down to Monterey Bay, where the couple first met and fell in love, to attend this quaint little wedding that brought the groom's Norwegian heritage and the bride's Taiwanese heritage together. It is especially moving to me knowing that the couple had been maintaining their long distance relationship for the past 4 years, showing proof that love does conquer all.

DIY Distressed Denim

Summer is the best time to wear denim shorts, especially distressed ones to add more character to your outfit. However, distressed denim shorts can often times be prices from upwards of $40+, and ain't nobody got money to spend on something that you can easily make at home by yourself! To achieve this simple look, you will need the following supplies:

1) box cutter/sharp knife
2) pen
3) tweezer
4) scissors

With the help of some YouTube tutorial videos like this and this, I was able to follow along and complete my denim shorts! Mine took about 2 hours to complete, but that's because I have never done anything like this before. I'm sure with practice, you will be able to finish within an hour! Though the process was tedious, the outcome of the shorts definitely paid off!

BEFORE

AFTER

I am so much more inspired to do more DIY projects, and I cannot wait to distress more of my jeans! Not only are you saving tons of money by doing it yourself, but you also get the satisfaction of knowing that you did it all by yourself. You also have to luxury to design the rips and placements of the rips to cater to your own taste. Don't spend your summer watching TV or on the Internet all the time, pick up some supplies and create your own pair of distressed denim shorts!
